The course is really thorough and made me work hard!

I enjoyed the complexity - and being able to go back and review. Also, the up-to-date nature of the course with modern trends and styles taken into account.

Thanks for a terrific course. I'll be reviewing modules from start to finish.

I really enjoyed the course because it was packed full of practical resources and strategies. I learnt the Copywriting world is a whole 'new' world but one that is now very accessible to me. The design of Bernadette's courses, as well as the way she taught them, left me feeling empowered and excited about next practical steps should I want to take them.

I appreciated Mark's weekly feedback. I loved the highly practical content. I enjoyed Bernadette's genuineness, as well as her communication style and her many examples of the content in practice. I also loved the assignments! They were a great opportunity to 'play' with the content.

As a teacher I've been selling 'learning' for years! This gave me confidence that there is something else out there for myself as a teacher. It is also empowering me to apply my now-honed copywriting skills to other career possibilities.

It's absolutely worth doing the Copywriting Essentials Course. Whatever career direction or place you're at in your life's journey, there's exciting skills to learn, enjoy and inspire your next step.

Pamela was an absolute gem. She got the exact balance right between being encouraging and being constructive in her feedback.

I got such a lot out of these 5 weeks. Even when it was just confirming things I instinctively knew - just knowing I was doing okay and my book didn't sound terrible was immensely helpful. Now I have to do the hard part and finish writing it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the course. I have taken action already: I joined the local library, and started attending the Writing Fridays group. I have been twice and met some lovely fellow writers and feel a sense of community already. On the first session of Writing Fridays, I wrote my first short story, which was very satisfying. I am in the process of looking at short story competitions. I also attended an author talk at the library and asked her questions about how she combines psychology work and writing. I have also sent a follow up Insta message asking about the writing courses she mentioned in her talk.

Without the course, I would not have known where to start or what to do. Hearing from writers who have completely changed careers or combine writing with their current career, helped me realise that a writing career is totally possible.

The seminar was fabulous. Packed with practical information

Pamela answered a burning question for me which has set me on a new and positive path. The seminar provided the information I needed to pave the way. You can't get much better than that

Start a course now. You won't regret it.

I've already read a lot about building characters, so I was pleased Pamela's advice offered something new. I came away with ideas to implement in my writing and an enthusiasm to get stuck in.

Pamela is an excellent presenter who clearly knows what she is talking about. I also appreciated the handout to take away and use.

Based on this workshop, I'd recommend AWC highly.

I'm currently writing a middle grade fiction manuscript and needed help with characterisation.

Again, Pamela gave a very accessible seminar. I'm constantly amazed at her ability to immediately answer questions thoroughly, without hesitation.

The content was very well presented. Timing was great. A bit of dinner wolfed down and time after Zoom to wind down. I liked that Pamela could read questions directly without having to go through anyone else.

The seminar went beyond just doing the Fiction Essentials: Characters course and I felt I really learned a lot. The question time was great too, with really relevant questions and responses.

The content was really on point and Pamela Freeman not only is so familiar with the topic but is great at explaining in depth how to apply it.

I have already done several courses that included sections on character development and I still got heaps from this! So much depth of exploration of character and very practical ideas. Thanks so much!

I did a lot of writing courses when I was learning the craft. These days I only do courses that fill the knowledge gaps or refresh particular skills. In my current writing project, I was struggling with a protagonist who needed a bit more development to carry the story. This course came along at the right time and had just the right level of commitment.

Sometimes all I need is a succinct reminder of the techniques. By the time the seminar was drawing to a close I was madly scribbling notes about my character.

Pamela is such a friendly presenter and so generous with her knowledge. It felt like I was sitting down with a writing mentor and being gently nudged in the right direction.

I enjoy the AWC courses because they're always positive and upbeat. The information provided in the emails was great and the presentation flowed well.

I liked the fact it was targeted towards a specific skill and was accompanied by a practical workshop handout that will be used to guide me in future. It was to the point. I want to know how to write better characters - here is an hour workshop on writing better characters with a Q&A at the end to clear up loose ends.

I enjoyed Pamela's enthusiasm!

I'm currently writing a novel and I thought the seminar would help with getting closer to my main POV character. It sparked some ideas about my character and how she related to herself which I have now included in my work.

Pamela is a super teacher and her helpful hints along the way add to the great knowledge base that can be built upon with these short courses. Love the fact I can re-watch and take additional notes at my own speed.

The easy format to follow and the worksheet to follow on with are very helpful.

AWC is always a good idea. No matter how you rate your writing knowledge there are always so many great nuggets of information that fall out of the mouths of the tutors.

Despite having previously taken courses which included character development, this seminar was able to add to my previous knowledge

All the courses I have taken with the AWC have been relevant and have improved my writing.

I thought Pamela was very clear in what she was saying. She repeated key points so that they could stick. She also has a lovely personality and comes across as extremely knowledgeable and affable. Even the way she answered the wide range of questions was done in a very thorough way. Thank you for an invaluable session.

The course exceeded my expectations in that it covered a wide range of aspects overall in addition to writing, including publication types, lead times, industry information, communication with editors, and useful tips.

Vivienne's feedback was thorough and thoughtful, and she has a lovely positive and engaging manner. I thought Vivienne considered each student's assignments in depth and provided insightful and constructive comments.

I enjoyed the conversational and down-to-earth way the lessons were explained. The advice in the lessons was practical and helpful in regard to writing articles and getting them published. The concepts in the audio lessons were discussed thoroughly and easy to understand.

Freelance Writing Stage 1 is wide ranging and comprehensive. The online practical-based course is suitable for anyone interested in freelance writing who would like to learn in a friendly and approachable environment.

I've done a number of courses with the AWC this year since starting to write my own novel for the first time. I'm currently about 15,000 words in and as I'm writing epic fantasy, more and more characters keep coming up. I'm currently doing a lot of character development right now and wanted to further hone those skills to make the characters have depth, work effectively in the story and move the reader with their own arcs.

The level of concise and in-depth information was fantastic. I've done 4 courses already with the AWC and have read a number of books on story, characters, structure and yet still there was so much for me to learn from this.

If you're writing a book, AWC is the place to go.

I enjoyed Pamela's clear, useful, organised information and the handout. It helped me to organise a jumble of ideas I already had about the characters in my YA novel.

Do Pamela's Freeman's courses. She'll affirm your right to write and point your story in the right direction.

I loved the format. It was thorough and having notes to follow is something I like. The questions from other participants covered a variety of topics and rounded off the session in a great way.

So easy to follow and thorough without rambling. I hope I can read my copious notes! Pamela was wonderful. Thank you for the motivation to apply the principles in my writing.

Go for it! It will inspire your writing, even if you've done courses before.

Madeline Byrne 2 years ago

Pamela was exceptional! I've never attended any of her workshops before, but I will from hereon.

I thought Pamela was concise, generous with her information and very knowledgeable. She presented ideas concisely and in an applicable way. Just fantastic!

The sessions are helpful and inspiring. Just what you need to kickstart your writing engine, and if you are brand new to writing, you will learn SO MUCH. I feel rewarded, if not with knowledge, then with inspiration, every time I participate in an AWC course.
