I liked listening to the experiences of the AWC graduates who had success in publishing their writing. It made me realise writing is not out of my reach. Anyone can become a writer with the correct tools and applying themselves.

There was so much useful and practical information available in this course combined with tips and personal experience.

The course gave me the tools to pursue this area but with some doubt that I had the skills, confidence and ability to get started. Listening to the audio interviews was gold. They made me realise we all start in roughly the same place, experiencing the same doubts and hesitation. It was fabulous to hear how they each "started" in Real Estate Copywriting and how they managed the pitfalls, highlights and strategies in their individual journey to a successful career.

The information was very informative and listening to the interviews I believe it is very possible that I could be a successful Real Estate Copywriter.

It is a great place to learn and experience new and interesting courses.

I enjoyed finding the voice of a character and plotting in point form for the climax of a story. It gave me some new insights on how to proceed with other stories I have in mind.

Good feedback provided by Suzanne. She is always polite and respectful yet offers good insight and constructive advice. I learned more about my writing and how to improve it. I also learned from her discussion of my peers' posts.

I enjoyed Suzanne's feedback the most, along with my peers' comments. That feedback is crucial for developing as a writer. Having an established writer and tutor suggest improvements and point out strengths and what works is inspirational.

I enjoy the community aspect, which I can access whenever I have the time, day or night; right where I am, especially during this pandemic.

As I am well into writing a novel, it reassured me that I seem to be getting a lot of it right but also provided tips for me to build upon. The information on when to bring in descriptions of characters and how much to describe is great.

Having enjoyed reading many (sooo many!) picture books to my young sons, I wanted to learn how to write my own, especially for them. The five-week course also fits well into my busy schedule.

Zanni was attentive and insightful. Her hints and tips were most appreciated (thanks Zanni!).

I'm determined to get published, and excited - not scared - about the journey ahead. Picture book writing allows you to embrace your weird, wild and wacky side!

I liked that it was a 5-week course and that I could gain practical skills to help me boost my copywriting skills. I'm a SAHM with two small children doing some freelance copywriting on the side. But the fact that it's online and only requires a few hours' work a week made it easier than I thought! Sometimes courses claim to take only a few hours a week and then require much more, but not this one. This course provided enough of a challenge without going overboard so I never felt stressed as to how I would get everything done.

Bernadette is brilliant. I'm so glad I did this course.

I enjoyed everything! From the first lesson I gained practical tools to help enhance my writing skills. I also found the course very generous. The client brief document was very generous of you to provide. I didn't expect any specific resources like that, but that document will be a huge help to me.

It's definitely helped boost my confidence and I'm finding I'm writing jobs more quickly now.

Thanks so much, I loved this course!

I've been considering early retirement for a number of years so I can focus on my new career as a writer. I've published one book and have two others in the making but felt like a fraud and stuck to my other job which does not involve much creativity. The name of the course just struck me as the right thing to do next.

It was encouraging to hear that it is possible to start my part-time journey as an author while having a full-time job. And the reassurance that I can be involved in writing across genres and don't have to stick to my field of specialty.

Reinvent Yourself has persuaded me to pursue the path I've been thinking hard about and to diversify after my first book. It has also compelled me to do a little bit every day and not wait for weekends only to be able to practice my writing craft. I can also enrol in and practice feature writing and submit pieces as a freelance writer to relevant places while I get there with my longer-term project.

I've done two courses with AWC and they gave me the confidence I needed to believe in myself. The insightful advice and feedback by accomplished writers was inspiring. I had a reality check that reassured me I could do this.

I have been lacking direction with my writing and in desperate need for professional feedback. I saw a post on Instagram and looked at the AWC website and found lots of valuable information. I often find it difficult to spend money on myself professionally (I am a freelance illustrator) but I always find that when I do it's really worth it. It generates a forward momentum that can't be powered alone.

Feedback was wonderful. It was so important to be given a useful critique and each iteration allowed me to improve my work draft by draft.

I have begun!! The page is no longer blank and I am inking my first graphic novel for the first time in the three years of thinking about it.

If you are wondering whether it's worth it stop wondering and just give it a go.

Thank you for providing such a useful resource and wonderful tutors. I am determined to get something published like never before.

I was very happy with the quality of the feedback. I was not expecting so much detail, or every week. I also like that I could see what the other students had written and hear their feedback - I found this helped me to learn more.

I really enjoyed the fact that it was over 6 weeks, with weekly exercises and feedback. I had enrolled in a 12-month course before, but over time I slowed down and didn't complete it. By having weekly assignments it made me apply the learning straight away and get feedback so I could consolidate the learning and then build on it the following week. I also loved the weekly feedback; it felt like there were multiple opportunities to get feedback rather than just one at the end.

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us in such an open way. And thank you for taking the time to review my work and give me such open and honest feedback.

Wonderful courses that really have practical knowledge to help you succeed in the industry. Not just academic theory, but practical and relevant advice for entering the industry by industry experts.

I wanted to know more about writing for children and young adults. All the other courses I have done through the AWC have been really helpful and great.

The course was invaluable. I liked everything about it and I enjoyed connecting with other writers. Suzanne was fantastic. Really knowledgeable and sweet.

I will have to rework my manuscript but it's doable and I have a bit more direction now.

I was attracted to this course because I completed Copywriting Essentials and I found it really helpful. Thankfully this one was too.

Bernadette is great. She puts everything in really simple terms and doesn't use too much jargon or superficial language. It's a nice change from what I'm used to.

I suppose it's really helped me with my self-confidence. I have a terrible case of imposter syndrome and this course has given me a real sense of reassurance that I can do well at copywriting if I try hard. That starting a business might be hard work but isn't rocket science.

It's a very handy course for people who feel a bit lost and aren't sure what to do next. I would also tell everyone out there not to be scared to try Copywriting. It's a bit frightening to try something new but when you do something different, you learn something new about yourself. Even if you don't end up doing Copywriting, at least you have something new in your skillset.

Thanks a lot Bernadette, this was a really great experience!! All the best for the future!!!!

As an avid writer looking to improve my abilities, a creative writing course targeted at people my age seemed like a great way to continue writing and learning the craft.

I found my online tutor very helpful. She was very welcoming and seemed genuinely interested in my story which was quite comforting. Additionally, her feedback was both positive and constructive.

I really enjoyed all the audio lessons as they contained a lot of valuable information. I think the fact that they can be downloaded and listened to multiple times is very helpful. The activities were also very useful in applying the learnt skills.

I now know a lot more about how to structure a scene and am able to form more realistic characters. Furthermore, each week being targeted to a specific writing skill allowed me to improve my writing abilities across all areas.

I felt that I needed to polish up on my Grammar and Punctuation... and, sadly I DID need to polish up!!!

Quite a lot of 'aha!' moments... I hadn't realised how bad my grammar etc was :)

It was easy to follow, comprehensive. I love that I can refer back to the course.

I am only at the beginning of my AWC journey, but so far so good.

I saw the course in the newsletter and knew that I needed to do it as I've never had my own business before.

Bernadette was excellent. I love the personalised feedback and doing it through Loom was a nice touch. Everything was useful and practical and I feel ready to start my own copywriting business now (almost!)

I enjoyed the practical nature of the course and how easy it was to implement many of the tips shown in the course. Still lots to do but getting there.

I now have a clear pathway forward and know what I need to do. There is a lot still to do but I have new knowledge and know where to look for things I still need to figure out!

Do it! The courses are practical and you will learn loads. You'll get personalised feedback and can implement everything right away

Thank you :)

Aside from my own growth as a writer (which is great - I feel much more confident), I loved seeing the way others in the course developed their craft and honed their ideas across the five weeks! Inspiring. Gave me lots of insight into how to improve my own work as well.

The course helped me to recognise that writing is truly a lifelong passion of mine. Completing the tasks and receiving feedback has fostered my confidence and sparked creativity for future projects. I am very glad I did this course.

Good value, well-balanced, detailed... do it!

I have read the Mapmaker series, and so I have a respect for that author. I also have a love of creative writing and hoped that she could help develop my skills. I love that this course offers personal feedback and that she was honest about my strengths and weaknesses.

I have grown in my understanding of developing characters and storylines and I know why my previous efforts at writing had failed. So, I think this course is valuable.

The tutor was very informative and used picture language which helped me to visualise.

I liked the feedback that A. L Tait gave on my assignments. I also loved completing the assignments which were challenging and motivating to complete because of the timeframe, and applying the skills that I learned in the course.

I have been longing to write for a living after completing my degree in 2019. This course was just what I was looking for, being able to do it at my own pace.

Bernadette was fantastic. So knowledgeable, interesting and really drew you in.

I enjoyed the content and the assignments. It was actually fun!

Within 4 weeks of finishing I have launched my own copywriting business and have earned $3,000 in the first month.

I thought Pamela Cook was great - her feedback was spot on, thoughtful, insightful, encouraging and constructive at all times

Working on a submittable piece every week was great - kept the creative mind ticking over and receiving feedback was invaluable.

I feel it has made me more committed to writing every day and committed to planning, plotting and writing a novel. Some of the positive feedback from Pamela gave me inner confidence and confirmed my own commitment to the creative process.

AWC has great short courses that are easily accessible and affordable. Great format to the course, the material/information is of a high quality and delivered by experienced authors. It gives you the scope to explore your own creativity in a creative space with other budding writers. Thank you AWC!

I just feel sad that it's over - but now I can choose another short course and keep up the momentum.

I was interested in learning the theory behind copywriting since I'm technically working as one, yet without the formal tools. There are plenty of copy online courses, but I chose this particular course for various reasons: AWC's prestige, Bernadette's and Valerie's credentials and the Centre's reviews.

Bernadette is pragmatic, straight-forward and you can tell she KNOWS what she is talking about. I really liked her teaching style and the attention she gave each one of the students in terms of feedback.

The most enjoyable were the assignments and feedbacks. The most useful were the formulas and practical tools provided.

I used to write copy "instinctively", which was good. But now I include theory and strategy to that, which I believe makes my copy more powerful.

It's short, it's easy going, you actually LEARN tools, is not just abstract ideas or opinions, and you can get an experienced teacher to guide and rate your work. Go for it.

Without exception, the submissions of every person in the class have improved immensely since we began. Our stories are so much clearer now (I suspect for the writer as much as for the reader).

I am in awe of Pamela's ability to identify the strengths and the weaknesses of any piece of writing with scalpel-sharp precision. Even better is her skill at finding solutions for the problems too.

I enjoyed the Zoom sessions together. Seeing the people behind the stories. I now have three writing friends that I'm still in regular touch with and we're looking forward to meeting for the first time at the ARW conference in August.
