Having previously completed Copywriting Essentials I felt this was an important next step to building my business.

I found Bernadette to be very generous with her time and feedback. It's clear she is an expert and keeps up to date to ensure the material is relevant. I enjoy learning from Bernadette as she takes the time to explain concepts in a simple and easy way that everyone can understand!

The most enjoyable and valuable part of the course is the feedback on our assignments. This was the most important reason I selected AWC as I felt feedback was critical to my success as a copywriter.

If you want a local Australian perspective of modern copywriting with a supportive team and mentors, AWC should be at the top of the list. The learning is self-paced with a mix of video, presentations, handouts and audio to cater for all. It's been a great learning experience!

What spurred me to try the course was that I was stuck with how to progress from the ten or so thousand words I had written.

Jenny was fantastic. I gained a lot from her feedback - in fact I think it was invaluable! I thought her style of how she gave the feedback was really good too - e.g very positive, friendly and motivating. Even when giving feedback about things that needed work, Jenny said it in a motivating and uplifting way. Really good for new writers (all writers?!) I think!

I think this course has made my writing journey more of a reality because I can see the path laid out more clearly. I now have a more solid understanding of what I actually need to do to get those words on the page.

I'd recommend this course for sure. I'd say that you will finish with an actual toolkit to use to finish your manuscript. And a community to support you.

Just a huge thank you and I hope to be involved with AWC going forward!

I have self-published 3 books and would like to do more. I designed the covers but not sure whether they hit the right mark.

I now have more knowledge of what constitutes a good book cover design.

The courses are thorough and there is plenty of information and knowledge to be gained by enrolling in any of the courses.

I had some ideas for short stories and novellas but had no idea about character creation and development. I wanted to learn how to create real, believable characters to give stories punch and leave the future readers impacted in some way.

I thought there was an incredible amount of detail in the course to fully equip me to write great characters and also plot. I didn't know exactly what to expect, but I now see this course as an arsenal in my toolkit!

It is structured and practical. There were a lot of really helpful examples that started to get my brain ticking over by just listening to them. Now I know where and how to start collating and developing my story ideas. This course has helped me capture the overwhelm into a structure I can now use going forward.

AWC will equip you with whatever tools you need to get your writing onto the page and make the stories happen. Make sure you sign up for their courses.

Bernadette was phenomenal. I loved her style of teaching. She is so easy to learn from and a wealth of knowledge. A great, straightforward style of teaching.

I thought the audio feedback each week on our submitted work was invaluable. A great bonus to the course.

It has definitely reignited my love for writing again, which has been on hold for quite a while.

I would highly recommend AWC to writers of all levels of experience. Bernadette is an exceptional teacher with a wealth of experience and knowledge that is invaluable in the industry. The information provided is insightful and the 12-month access to the course files is an added bonus to be able to circle back on needed segments. I love this course and am looking forward to my next AWC course. I am figuring out which one to do next!

I wished to use Scrivener for my first attempt at writing a novel. I was sick of little, yellow, sticky notelets everywhere, but I'd heard Scrivener was difficult to get your head around.

Natasha's clear direct explanations, which I could stop and rewind when necessary, were fantastic. I realised that I could in fact do this and it would only take a little practise and familiarity with the program.

As a messy writer, I have mess everywhere trying to remind myself of important facts, ideas etc. I now have it all in one place. I use the Notes section in the Inspector all the time when fresh ideas hit me for a particular scene. As a kid lit writer, the discovery of Linguistic Focus in module 5 was very exciting.

Just do it. If you are serious about improving your writing, jump in to your first course. You will be amazed at what you didn't know.

I really enjoyed Lesley's delivery of the course and her obvious passion for the subject. It is infectious!

Being shown lots of real-life examples in books that have actually been published was extremely helpful to me.

I now have a lot more confidence to start writing stories for this age group with the thought that they might get published one day.

It's totally worth it.

I have been using Scrivener for a few years now and, as I taught myself how to use it, I know it is capable of much more than I have been able to work out for myself.

This course is great and I found Natasha to be a wonderful presenter, easy to listen to and most importantly covering the most useful parts of the program when we are starting out. I have bits of research all over my computer, on USBs and in real binder files and I am really excited now to bring all this information into one place and no longer be scratching around like a mad woman wasting precious time looking for it!

Upon completing this course, I see how Scrivener can help me with my writing and I now feel it is possible I will get my book over the line!

I have completed a few courses with AWC and I love them! The content and tutors are great and I love the weekly podcasts which help me to understand there are many ways to approach your writing. Learning tips and gaining inspiration from how others work gives you great ideas of how to find the right way for you!

LA Larkin was very warm and open to all questions. She was clear in the explanations, giving multiple examples and encouraging the students.

We learned a lot and the environment created was very supportive and relaxed. I understand the process of writing a crime thriller much more now.

I thought the course was fantastic. The level of concise technical detail is presented and delivered so well. Its focus on the step-by-step practicalities making up the bulk of the content along with the broader concepts was balanced perfectly in my opinion.

It was the first time sharing my work with others which was really daunting. I've always drawn and designed worlds and cultures and made up stories in my head. But to bring this world and a new story to others for the first time and see people getting enjoyment from it has been wonderful. I hope one day more people will enjoy reading this story.

I thought Jennifer was very knowledgeable and I greatly respect her expertise in this field. I was keen to work with her as I knew she wrote in Speculative Fiction. I really liked that she could pinpoint what areas were working or not and why and the technical solutions of fixing those issues. This was truly invaluable.

Overall, I thought she balanced her critical feedback along with encouragement wonderfully as that is so important for people just starting out like myself. It has certainly helped me believe that I can indeed tackle this novel that I've set out to write.

Really I just think it has given me the skills to achieve what I've set out to do with my novel. I wouldn't have learned enough of the technical skills without training and on my own. It was exciting to hear I actually have something that other people would really like to read, rather than just an amusement for myself in my own head hahaha.

I would highly recommend it for both beginner to even to more experienced writers.

Loved the work, got my creative brain thinking lots! Will definitely incorporate all of the advice into my writing.

The tutor was very supportive and encouraging. Was good to have her affirm points and show she understood the messages and meanings behind my assignments.

Made me more confident in my writing ability.

An amazing course that gives you lots of confidence, knowledge and creative inspiration!

I have never really known much about freelance writing but read magazines, newspapers and articles and always thought 'I could do that' but had no idea where to start.

The course provided excellent content to get me started on my freelance writing career. It gave me a great starting point and worked through structure and content and finally approaching editors which I feel is the difficult part.

Vivienne provided awesome feedback on my writing and I felt I was on the right track. I really had no idea what I was doing in terms of article writing and pitching ideas but Vivienne gave me the confidence to keep going.

I enjoy the flexibility of listening to the lessons but also having the deadline at the end of the week to submit the assignment.

I never really knew where to start in freelance writing but this course has opened my eyes and given me the confidence to write and approach editors.

Absolutely go for it. If you have any interest in writing in any form the AWC is the best place to go to learn and perfect your craft. I love the large variety of courses and the fact you can do any genre.

Thank you for a great 5 weeks full of information, inspiration and confidence.

I love Furious Fiction and MOJO and have done other courses with AWC, but I felt that I needed an extra "boost" to propel me forward in my "self-reinvention".

I liked being able to "tune in" for a brief time, usually during my morning cuppa...getting my mind focussed on what I really want to do. I enjoyed hearing the enthusiasm and passion of other writers.

It inspired me to actually submit a manuscript to a publisher!

The courses at AWC have been worth my investment, but most importantly, they have been worth my time.

Angela was great. I looked forward to her feedback each week.

The interaction and reading others' stories was a lot of fun. For someone who lives where there are no writing groups, it was nice to have some online contact.

I knew I could write at a better-than-average level but at the end of the course I gut-level believe the only thing between me and being published is putting in the hours to work my craft. I have a strong sense of confidence that with time my stories will come out.

To quote Nike - Just do it!

I love romance stories, so I was interested to find out the genre-specific requirements of romance writing.

The course was very detailed and informative in the plotting and character requirements. Great information and value for money.

Louisa was SO great! Her enthusiasm & wealth of knowledge were brilliant. She's a fantastic tutor. She goes above & beyond to make sure everyone has time to ask questions and understands the content. Her content depth was fantastic & the exercises were very helpful to get me thinking.

The character profiling exercises were fantastic - made me think about things I hadn't developed yet.

It's a brilliant starting course to get your head around the building blocks of crime writing, full of easy to digest content and fun exercises.

Thanks Louisa.

I thought this was a good course to learn the fundamentals of writing and to learn about storytelling. Angela was encouraging and positive. She was open to helping and being asked questions.

I enjoyed listening to the audio lessons each week and learning different things. I also enjoyed completing the assignments and reading everyone else's submissions.

I feel like it has given me the confidence to continue with my manuscript and taught me what I should be looking out for to make it better.

If you enjoy creative writing and want to learn more about the different elements of writing, do this course!

Thank you :)

I was interested in learning some basics to give me a kick start with a writing project I've been struggling with, and this course seemed like it would give me some structure and advice. I thought it might not teach me anything more than I'd learn by seeking out advice in a more informal way - but actually I found the course to be really valuable.

I've gained more confidence in my ability to write something and get it published - the course treats this as something that is achievable for anyone who puts their mind to it, and not just the preserve of rare literary geniuses.

This course demystifies the craft of writing by giving sound practical advice on the basics of storytelling. The course is instructive without being dogmatic. It gave me the motivation to write more and the encouragement to believe I can achieve my goals.

My son bought it for me to inspire me to get serious about my writing!

This course made me realise that I need to allow time to be creative. It's so easy to not find time to do the things you want to do because of the things you have to do. Also, don't expect to get it right the first time! It's okay to rewrite, change direction, leave and revisit. It's all fine!

Invest some time in yourself, you never know what you might discover!

I wanted to learn more about romance writing genres as my WIP had romance in it but wasn't technically a romance novel.

I enjoyed all the new information I learned. I now know I have written a mystery with romantic elements.

It's attractive because it's self-paced and you will definitely learn something, even if it's: you're on the right track!
