What’s it like to learn with AWC?

The Q and A at the end answered many of my own questions (and then some). I now have a better understanding of how to develop characters and their personalities. I will probably reference this seminar as I work on my novel.

Just do it! I really like the structure and layout of the courses. There are courses here for every area of interest with regard to writing.

The case studies were interesting with individuals from diverse backgrounds with a common interest in pursuing their writing. Also it is great to see that many AWC graduates have been able to transition to full time writing and secure publishing deals for their novels.

The course has given me some motivation to consider taking up an entry level course in writing.

AWC receives positive reviews online and the course offerings are comprehensive. AWC offers courses for individuals interested in writing, regardless of where they are in their writing journey.

I was looking for the best course to start my journey and am so pleased I discovered it with AWC!

It gave me an insight into how to better construct a novel. I learnt what genre or sub genre my story belongs to and how to simply just pick up that pen (or keyboard) & write!

I was ready to keep going with my story idea but needed help with structure as well as a deadline to keep me focussed and writing. I had completed Novel Writing Essentials and this was the next step.

This course and tutor allowed me to write as the type of writer I am: a pantser. A chaotic one. I always looked forward to the new modules dropping and reading the feedback, although this last was also the most nerve racking.

It has shown me I can write something someone else would like to read; that it is okay to be a pantser and that not everyone is going to like what I write and that's okay too. It has also given me permission to be a writer.

I highly recommend these courses to anyone who is thinking they want to write. Even if you only have a tiny idea but want to see it grow these courses are what you need. Just do it.

There was so much information available to help understand the technical side of writing and the implications of those elements on the writing itself. Despite being a prolific reader, I'd not looked at it quite this way. Nothing was new, and yet when outlined, everything was new!

If you want to understand how to maximise your writing, do this course.

The course is super helpful to dive deep into your characters, which will enrich your story tenfold.

This course seemed to be perfect for me. I have written a novel and edited it many times. I also paid to have my novel professionally edited. She gave me loads of really useful information and advice that I painstakingly put into place. I was always worried though, that if I didn't start to really take on the 'how to' of editing myself, that I would never get anywhere with my novel.

This course offered a way to really attack my novel and get it to be the best it can be. I am really grateful for the information given.

It's pretty clear that if you follow all the steps properly, that you will end up with a far better novel than what you started with. I really liked how this course gave such a clear answer to the question 'what do I do now?'

I really feel ready to move my novel into the next phase. I already knew that my novel had significantly improved since being professionally edited. The advice that I was given after that read was so in line with what came out in this course that I wish I had have done this course first. Then I could have had her read it after I had done all these checks and changes.

So easy. You just jump on your computer whenever you have the time and start learning. You can do it all in a day, or a little bit every week. I also really loved how the language used in the audio really made me (the writer) feel completely normal for wanting to write a book even when I don't know if I have what it takes. It was reassuring.

I enjoyed the whole course. I needed to find out more about comma splice sentences and did. Also, learning more about tense means another review of my manuscript.

Another step toward improving my story telling - thank you.

The Content Writing online self-paced course is a convenient starting point to writing - it meant that I could complete it in my own available time.

The video demonstrations are a great learning tool as they make it easy to understand the before and after examples.

I took on this course to help me learn to write content for my current employer. I now have a number of writing options I can apply to my work.

Give it ago, you're worth the educational investment and you never know where it will take you.

The Writing Picture Books course was so comprehensive. I learnt so much. I was very impressed by my online tutor and appreciated the honest and constructive feedback. I enjoyed the practical and useful information and the exercises that gave me an opportunity to put this information into practice.

What attracted me to this course was to try something new as I've already had ideas for middle grade books - I was thinking, why not try picture books? So I decided to give it a go.

I have always had ideas for and around writing a children's book, but no idea where to start. I finally decided to commit to a course to give me some directions. Of all the courses I searched online, this was the best fit for me. It was online and in my own time, a great price, and great content.

I was worried I would be out of my depth (being older and having not studied for years), and that I would give up. But I found the course and assignments were broken down into good sized chunks of info, and led into the new session well.

I felt encouraged by the tutor and fellow classmates. The chat was great. The lessons were easy to understand and have good information, tasks, and reference material. And the feedback was relevant and encouraging, and greatly appreciated.

I enjoyed the assignments in which we had to submit work of our own for feedback. It tested me! But I was able to draw on the lessons for guidance and direction, and always waited eagerly for Cathie's feedback. And the feedback was valuable.

I now feel like I have direction and can use a methodical approach to finishing a book. It gave me different ideas on how to approach writing. I have always scribbled notes about story ideas but never used them, but the course reaffirmed to me that this is a good practice.
