I'm writing a dual timeline book (I've just started my second actually!)

I enjoyed soaking in Pamela's fabulous knowledge about writing dual timeline books. It helped me get back into the third draft of my first book, so the timing was perfect.

I've been doing AWC courses for a few years now and am always recommending them to my writer friends as I always get so much out of them. This was my first Focus On seminar and I thoroughly enjoyed it. And I love that we get handouts and slides.

Pamela has a great way of presenting complex material in a very methodical and understandable way. I learnt a lot about something I knew little about.

Do it; it's such a great help for using in writing practice.

I was trying to find a way to improve my writing skills and my mother came across this course so I thought it would be helpful to see if I could learn anything from it.

The feedback was very useful, and the tutor pointed out some issues in my story plot that I otherwise would not have noticed.

The course taught me interesting things that can improve my writing.

The AWC is extremely helpful if you want to improve your writing and that its definitely worth your time.

I've always enjoyed novels with this premise and thought it would be interesting to attempt to write one. This reasonably priced seminar gave me lots of strategies to consider writing a novel in this format more seriously.

I've only written short stories previously so I was quite imitated by the idea of writing 50000+ words for a novel. I now feel inspired after the seminar.

Pamela basically broke down the requirements to write a novel using dual timelines in a way I found easy to understand and which I hope to be able to employ in my writing.

This Focus On seminar - Dual Timelines - is excellent in highlighting the pros and cons of writing in this format and if you're considering this (as I am) it delivers all the information needed to get you started.

I found the presentation by Pamela very engaging, so helpful with her advice, and finally, encouraging the students to keep testing our methods.

I have been pointed in a different direction, something that might work better for my story.

I would really encourage friends and colleagues to join the AWC, to receive such great professional help and encouragement.

Many thanks.

There was a lot packed into this, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The best thing is that Pamela does a deep dive in detail using examples and tools to develop it in your manuscript. I am a visual person who needs to see things. Compare it to something in real life, or another book or a movie helps. Lots of excellent advice on tense and pacing and voice. I found these fascinating and loved the diagrams, which I definitely will use. Pamela is a reassuring, confident presenter. She's also a wonderful writer! Love Poppy Montgomery. Pam knows her stuff. I could listen to her all day.

It clarified to me that my novel is heading down the right path, developing in a way that could most possibly be suited to dual timeline. I hope so! Only time will tell.

Go for it! You'll learn so much.

I enjoyed the level of detail about the different components of a short story.

I've found reading short stories a lot more enjoyable, and am improving at identifying the different elements. I feel that I can complete a short story now. I have started many, but never been able to finish satisfactorily.

AWC is very user friendly. The courses are relevant and on point. People are great.

I'm currently editing my manuscript that has a dual timeline.

The seminar was very informative. It validated what I've already been doing with my story and also given me some knowledge about how to edit my dual timeline.

It's worth the time to enhance your knowledge.

It's great, well presented, good material available prior to the presentation that you can refer back to at any time.

I now know which character to start my book with. And how to combine the two timelines.

It's motivated me to get started with my writing. The feedback about character development and scene was a major learning moment.

The Australian Writers' Centre is a great resource to support and further develop writing skills. The precise feedback reinforces writing skills.

I enjoy the way Pamela presents and interacts with attendees in the Q& A. It encouraged and educated me.

I find the online courses affordable and that I have a good return on my investment. I really enjoy the podcast and the weekly newsletter - particularly the successes and the advice from fellow writers interviewed.

You have a well-deserved reputation for excellence and value for money.

I have gotten invaluable advice that I can immediately incorporate into my writing.

If you're thinking about it, dive in. The sooner you start, the sooner you'll reach your goals.

Thanks Pamela for another amazing Focus On session.

I have just completed a draft of a novel with dual timelines and am about to do a structural review so I thought Pamela's advice around options for structuring the novel would be useful in this process.

I enjoyed Pamela's approach to the subject and her attention to each question. And the "have fun" at the end. It confirmed some things for me e.g. writing the two timelines separately, and also gave me some insights into how I could use dual timelines in the future.

The Australian Writers' Centre offers practical well-constructed courses that will step you through the writing process. You just need to bring your ideas and commit to working consistently at it and you will be amazed at the progress you make.

Love your work.

I was attracted to the comprehensive course outline and the condensed 5-week timeframe of AWC's Copywriting Essentials. It meant that I could easily balance developing a new skill and completing the course with full-time work.

Both Bernadette and Mark were incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. I got so much out of each module and from the weekly assignment feedback.

I enjoyed the practical resources and opportunities for applying the content covered each week. I am so grateful for how clearly each concept was covered, and then the immediate opportunity to apply my newfound knowledge and receive timely feedback allowed me to practice each skill and gain confidence that I had understood the concepts.

This course has given me the confidence and tools to pursue a freelance copywriting career. Knowing where and how to start is the hardest part and Copywriting Essentials covers just that.

If you have ever had the desire to start copywriting but feel overwhelmed at the idea of starting something new, Copywriting Essentials is perfect because it breaks it down into clear and achievable steps.

I currently do blog writing and social media posts at my work and lacked confidence. I wanted to learn key strategies to help me advance.

Mark was friendly and I appreciated the feedback. I enjoyed learning new things and participating in weekly assignments. I am more confident writing copy and my copy is better overall.

I was already working on my novel, which is a collection of short stories, and the course has given me extra impetus to move forward with my writing.

Pamela's approach is constructive as she points out sections of writing that shouldn't be there and ways in which to improve the text.

I enjoyed the handouts, the audio modules, reading what other students had written and receiving feedback from them as well as the valuable feedback from Pamela. Also, I found the list of titles and authors that were mentioned in the handouts very helpful in that there were quite a few authors I either hadn't heard of or hadn't read their work, so I have been reading their books.

I have already mentioned this course to my friends in the writing world and have told them it's an excellent investment towards achieving goals in their writing career.

The course and its activities came at a particularly busy time for me as a classroom teacher but I was not going to be put off. I have not listened to all of the modules yet and in the summer holidays I look forward to doing just that. It is great the material is available for such a long time after the course has finished.

The wide variety of activities and the character development structure was incredibly helpful and fun to complete.

Pamela Freeman's feedback for assessment 4 brought me to tears. It was not until that moment that I realised that I could write, and others genuinely thought it was good. Then her encouragement to continue writing my children's novel idea lit a fire in my belly to do just that. Thank you so very much.

I now have the confidence that others think I can write. It has profoundly touched me and helped my self-confidence develop. I am doing another course. I will write my book and I will get it published.

If you are thinking about enrolling in a writing course to develop technique as well as confidence that will actually move you closer to getting published, then AWC is the place for you.

The course was great. It helped me formulate some book ideas that have been rattling around in my head for years. Cathie's feedback was direct and honest, which I appreciated.

It is thorough, well run by experienced people and good value for money.
