Win $5000 and an industry mentorship for an unpublished manuscript

Kill Your Darlings, one of Australia’s awesome cultural magazines founded by Rebecca Starford and Hannah Kent, has announced that the 2018 KYD Unpublished Manuscript Award is now open!

From the Kill Your Darlings website:

“The KYD Unpublished Manuscript Award was established to support the development of an early-career author, provide them with the opportunity to work with industry professionals, and assist them in creating publishing pathways in the future.”

Last year’s winning entry was Permafrost, a collection of contemporary short stories by Onyx B. Carmine.

Entries for the 2018 award close on March 31 2018.

Longlist will be announced on 8 June 2018 with the Shortlist announced on the 22 June 2018. The winner will be announced in July 2018.
